The new concept ideas for the mobility of the future require a change of mindset at all levels

At Mercedes-Benz Cars, the cubeTEC concept is the response to short model cycles, the rising model variety and the challenges of electro mobility. While the individual parts of a car body are joined by various technologies in a rigid production line, the modular stations of a cubeTEC application can be connected with a flexible transport system via AGVs.

Today several specific manufacturing lines for car bodies are required for a production mix of conventional vehicle with a combustion engine and a battery-powered model. This results from differences in the basic architecture and structure.

Due to the flexibility of cubeTEC, different derivatives of a model can be produced simultaneously. In the cubeTEC system, both the body for conventional vehicle with a combustion engine and a battery-powered model can be produced.
