You won't tire of this!

The smart tire intelligence solutions Continental is exhibiting at CeMAT 2016 in Hannover aim to improve efficiency and safety in intralogistics.

23 May. 2016

Customized, innovative and smart solutions are the main focal point at CeMAT 2016. International automotive supplier Continental is readily following this trend in intralogistics and supply chain management, showcasing smart solutions for intralogistics applications from its comprehensive portfolio. Highlights at the stand in Hall 25 shared by Continental's Commercial Specialty Tires (CST) business unit and ContiTech division include ingenious, customized tire, drive and fluid solutions. Visitors to the Tire Intelligence, Customized Solutions and ContiTech areas of the stand will be able to experience live much of what Continental is hitting the road with - quite literally in most cases.

Under the motto "Tire Intelligence", for example, Continental CST is presenting not one but two smart solutions that are compatible with all vehicle types used in intralogistics. The ContiPressureCheck (CPC) system uses sensors inside the tires to continuously monitor their air pressure and temperature. Values are transmitted wirelessly to a display in the cab, giving drivers a constant overview and enabling them to take action quickly when necessary. What’s more, if these values take a turn for the worse, an audible alarm sounds. This system increases tire mileage and prevents tires from being damaged. The ContiFlexbox telematics solution, which will be available to complement CPC from 2017, will enable users to collect and display tire-related data and transmit it to a central server. Both systems will in future help fleet managers and drivers to manage fleets more efficiently, more safely and with less of an impact on the environment. A test setup at CeMAT will explain clearly to visitors how these systems work.
