The plan is to construct a silo-based automatic pallet warehouse for the logistics department, with 9,680 spaces along four 23-meter-high aisles. The aim is to expand capacity by creating space-saving storage to meet growing production volumes. Pooling storage capacity in the new building will mainly pay off by eliminating the need to use external warehouses. Focusing the company’s logistics expertise on site will also enable optimum delivery reliability.
This future-focused concept is the joint brainchild of the experts at SSI Schäfer and its customer MIPA SE. The plan involves equipping the new building with four green-technology Exyz storage and retrieval machines and pallet conveyor technology controlled by systems also integrated and installed by SSI Schäfer. The SSI Schäfer WAMAS warehouse management system will also be used to handle administrative tasks, control material flow and provide visualization in both automatic and manual zones. As an end-to-end system provider and IT specialist, SSI Schäfer will also complete the seamless connection with the INFOR M3 ERP system used by MIPA SE. With the finished high-bay warehouse system due to be handed over in January 2018, the SSI Schäfer stand at CeMAT 2018 will provide the best opportunity to get the full low-down on the successful implementation of these detailed solutions.
