Originally founded in 1985, CIM GmbH Logistik-Systeme has become a leading supplier of intralogistics software. Some might say that it's exciting enough that the Bavaria-based company is showcasing its extensive portfolio of software products at CeMAT in Hannover this year - from warehouse management systems (WMS), dispatch software and production logistics solutions to a forklift guidance system and automated storage system networking. However, CIM is also going a step further, with a unique opportunity for visitors to try out the software for themselves. Anyone who wants to give it a go can pick confectionary items using a smartphone and view real-time inventory updates instantly on an integrated dashboard.
This interactive "taste" of real-time picking via smartphone or scanner forms the centerpiece of the CIM stand and shows how processes can already be seamlessly networked and intelligently controlled using logistics software - perfectly in tune with this year’s trade fair focus on smart supply chain solutions. Since the PROLAG World warehouse management software is fully Internet-enabled, all information can be retrieved in real time from anywhere and at any time. A wireless connection links the smartphone or scanner to the warehouse management software, which is run securely at the data center in Munich as a cloud variant.
