FACE Consultants will be displaying their new multi all-in-one Digital Profileograph capable of measuring DIN 15185, the VDMA Guidelines, EN 15620 and TR34 floor flatness standards.
Floor flatness specifications for VNA facilities have been in existence since the late 1970s with the introduction of the ACI - F numbers. Since then, floor flatness standards have evolved which now include the Concrete Societys Technical Report no. 34 (TR34), DIN 15185, TR34 Appendix C and more recently the European Norm EN 15620.
In 2009 / 2010 Federation Européenne de la Manutention (FEM) drafted a guidance document (FEM 4.007) with recommendations for surface regularity which based on the DIN 15185 but introduced a very small short wavelength control called Fx. These recommendations were presented to the British Industrial Truck Association (BITA) WITI Working Group on 14th July 2010 by members of the FEM working Group 4. It was a decision of the BITA WG that it could not approve the FEM guidance note in totality and that further validation was required. Shortly after this meeting the FEM working group decided that the FEM 4.007 guidance note be removed from the table and the working group closed.
In September 2010, VDMA introduced a guidance 'Floors for use with VNA Trucks' which is a slightly amended version of the FEM Guidance note rejected by FEM a few months earlier.
Face Consultants are working with BITA and its trucks manufacturing members to carry out a month long validation survey on the new VDMA Guidelines with the report expected to be published at the end of May 2011.
We will also be displaying DIN Meter and Fx Meter at CeMAT 2014.
