Plastics from renewable resources are coming more and more into the focus of the packaging industry. As the worlds first strapping material manufacturer, Mosca took up this challenge. With our Eco-Strap which is produced of the natural material polylacid acid (PLA), we have already made the first step in this direction. Currently the Eco-Strap is available in a strap width of 5 mm, other dimensions in 8 and 12 mm will nearly be launched.
Using biobased plastics extensively minimizes the fossil fuel consumption. This is accompanied by a significant reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. A further advantage of this raw material is that it is fully compostable. After 12 weeks, our Eco-Strap is completely degraded under the conditions of an industrial composting facility.
A new milestone in the strapping industry has been set with the launch of our biological Eco-Strap. In fact, a complete conversion to packaging material made of bioplastics will still last some more
years but for Mosca the future has already begun!
