The warehouse logistics team was founded by the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML in Germany at the turn of the millennium. It aims to bring together customers and providers of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to satisfy requirements and provide advice and support in selecting and implementing WMS. This includes one of the world's leading logistics platforms for WMS - the international "WMS Database" on warehouse-logistics.com. Experts from the Fraunhofer IML and its regional partners validate the scope of the functions in the participating WMS and make their findings available to customers so they can select suitable providers and systems.
At CeMAT 2018 in Hannover, the Fraunhofer IML warehouse logistics community is fulfilling its commitment to bringing customers and providers of WMS together by organizing a series of discussions at the "Logistics 4.0 Forum" entitled "Efficient warehouse management - digitized and networked in social networked industry". This is being held at 12 noon on Wednesday 25 April. In a discussion moderated by Christoph Pott (Fraunhofer IML), providers of warehouse management systems - TEAM, inconso AG, SAP Deutschland and COGLAS GmbH - will be giving short presentations about their current work in digitization and logistics 4.0, including topics such as "Human-machine interaction in intralogistics", "Using voice assistants", "Wearables" and "Storing WMS in the cloud".
