The range of products showcased by suppliers of logistics software and systems at CeMAT is probably the most diverse presentation among the event's countless highlights. The range includes new products for applications in warehouse and supply chain management as well as tools to support and network existing ERP environments or auto-ID solutions.

This year's CeMAT will see PSI presenting two "major releases": the second version of the warehouse management system PSI WMS and the second version of the strategic planning and optimization tool PSI Global. "For the first time we are boasting our own lecture program at CeMAT, which will focus on current and potentially important issues in logistics IT", explained Wolfgang Albrecht, director of PSI Logistics. "Our experts will be holding morning and afternoon lectures and we extend a warm invitation to existing and potential customers to visit our stand."

The strong international profile of CeMAT was a key reason why Ehrhardt + Partner decided to exhibit at the event. The opportunities for discussions with potential and existing foreign clients are of particular importance.

In view of the international make-up of the trade public, the visitors have an extremely diverse range of interests. As the company's director Marco Ehrhardt says, this is why his company places the focus on providing a wide range of different solutions for international warehousing. Ehrhardt concludes: "Process optimization and the modernization of warehouse facilities continue to represent a complex challenge. Logistics standards vary greatly, as we can see from international comparisons, and this is something which we address at CeMAT, especially in talks with foreign trade visitors."

Aldata will use CeMAT as an opportunity to demonstrate the integration of IT logistics in SAP landscapes. The company focuses on new approaches in the automation and modernization of warehouses, as well as solutions to optimize performance in delivery services and capacity utilization. One of the highlights at the company's stand will be its innovative Aldata Waros Mobile app supported by Apple IOS and Android. "Here the focus is on the whole area of SAP Extended Warehouse Management - what it can achieve and how companies can use warehouse management systems to best effect", explains Dr. Manfred Alt, sales manager at Aldata. "To this end we will be staging a live demonstration of material flow and resource management to provide a concrete example of SAP EWM-MFS."

Zetes GmbH is showcasing its products especially solutions for tagging, identification and tracking for commerce, the manufacturing industry, transport and logistics. Under the generic term "multimodality" the Auto-ID specialist will provide effective examples of the integration of voice technology with mobile equipment such as the portable terminal Motorola WT 4090 as well as the FTF 3475 and FTF 3480 forklift truck terminals from the Zetes subsidiary IND Systeme GmbH.

Another highlight at the trade fair is the real time localisation system "Precyse". Using telemetric and sensor information this system can accurately locate persons and objects within a distance of one kilometre. This technology is useful to various users and suited to different applications - e.g. security vehicles transporting money and valuables, car hire companies, construction vehicle manufacturers, airport field management, visitor tracking and monitoring the movement of people (vulnerable elderly persons, etc.).

"As CeMAT only takes place every three years we are expecting numerous trade visitors with a keen interest in catching up with state-of-the-art technology for all sectors", says Annette Rückert, Marketing Head of Mobisys.

Many exciting developments are being showcased by Mobisys in Hannover, but visitors are likely to be impressed in particular by the new I-Phone app, "which transforms smart phones into mobile devices for data acquisition" - enabling, for example, logistics managers to access at all times the SAP functions of the Mobisys Solution Builder without requiring an extra hand-held device. Furthermore, the offline module of this software tool extends the range of intralogistics applications to service and maintenance tasks.

The company Axxom Software AG from Munich will be exhibiting its latest solutions for personnel planning for the first time at CeMAT (Hall 27, Stand C47). Software plays a key role in optimizing the efficient deployment and integrated planning of personnel and resources in logistics and distribution centres. For example, it can help reduce the need for agency workers in companies by as much as 50 percent. Other cost-saving benefits include, for example, the reduction in flexi-time working - according to Axxom savings of up to 15 percent can be achieved. Lastly, the virtual warehouse model provides the basis for simulation in order to facilitate solutions for varying warehouse capacities, strategies for order picking and the optimization of diverse processes in warehousing and logistics.
