Port handling technology will be featured even more at CeMAT in 2011, with a host of special events planned to focus on all the hottest innovations and trends,. Launched back in 2008, the Port Forum is now a full-day event staged by Deutsche Messe in collaboration with the Federal Association of German Inland Ports (BÖB), the Central Association of German Sea Ports (ZDS) and the journal SCHIFFAHRT UND TECHNIK as the event's media partner.
The Port Forum will take place on 4 May 2011 at the Robotation Academy on the exhibition grounds.
In a series of lectures and discussions, experts will examine how "green" port logistics at sea and inland ports can contribute to the development of sustainable logistics chains worldwide, and how this will affect the activities of shippers, forwarding companies and logistics providers.
The event will take a more in-depth look at the topics of hinterland transport systems for sea ports, the transportation of bulk goods, intermodal transport systems, project business, terminal software and innovative goods handling technology. Manufacturers, developers and users will enjoy prime opportunies to share know-how and compare views.
