CeMAT ASIA 2012 drew to a close on 1 November with a total visitor count more than 20 percent up on 2011. It’s a major increase, and one that far exceeded the expectations of the show’s 480 exhibitors. CeMAT ASIA takes place at the same time and place as PTC ASIA. Together, the two tradeshows attracted 68,510 visitors from 80 countries and regions, further cementing their growing status and influence in Asia.
“The Asian market continues to offer exporters an anchor of stability for the years ahead,” said Wolfgang Pech, Deutsche Messe’s Senior Vice President in charge of foreign trade fairs, commenting on the solid visitor turnout. “Our trade fair gives participating businesses a platform where they can showcase new applications and solutions for a wide range of industrial sectors and target groups. For visitors, it is a place both to find new products and technologies and to discover alternative options for process optimization.”
Among the exhibitor highlights was the CeMAT ASIA debut of Daifuku. The Japanese company ranks among the world’s top three providers of warehousing and storage solutions. “We are absolutely delighted to have this industry leader with us,” Wolfgang Pech said.
The other big-name exhibitors at the show included SinoTrans, EP, Cascade, Damon, Okamura, Shantui, Interroll, Swisslog, Eurocrane, China Tobacco and SWF.
As well as the exhibits, this year’s CeMAT ASIA featured a range of supporting attractions, including 25 high-caliber seminars, conferences and forums aimed at both exhibitors and visitors.
The next CeMAT ASIA and PTC ASIA double bill will be held from 28 to 31 October 2013 in Shanghai.
